"Institute of Technology of Planning and Statistics" (ITPS) was established in 1970 in Algiers. In 1972, it was renamed the "Institute of Planning Techniques and Applied Economics" (ITPEA), and in 1983, it became the "National Institute of Planning and Statistics" (INPS). In 1987, its supervision was transferred to the Ministry of Higher Education, and in 2008, it was transformed into the "National Higher School of Statistics and Applied Economics" (ENSSEA).
